The Margrave is a playable Hero in Gigantic. The Black Knight is a melee hero, absorbing damage and slashing people up close. He is one of the first heroes to be released for Gigantic, debuting in the Pre-Alpha.

Powerful melee attack combo.

  • Doom Strike - [LMB]x4: Combo ends with a powerful final attack.

  • Counter - [LMB]+DOWN: 90 front armor during Counter. Interrupts and weakens attacking enemies.(Available once every 6s.)
  • Critical Blow - [LMB]x4: On hit, final attack dramatically increases crit chance.
  • Demon's Reach - [LMB]x4: Final attack hits a larger area and deals more damage when hitting multiple targets.

  • Resounding Counter - All nearby enemies are interrupted and weakened if Counter succeeds.
  • Debilitating Blows - After Countering, [LMB] hits extend weakness duration (3s).




Hold down for a rapid attack that slows you but deflects incoming projectiles.

  • Eternal Flame - You can Hellburst for twice as long(6s).

  • Burst of Damage - Hellburst does not slow you down and deals more damage. No longer deflects.
  • Give Em Hell - Reflect projectiles back at their source. Gain focus when you reflect.
  • Impenetrable Flame - Armor vs Melee.

  • Mayhem - [RMB] can now crit. Hitting increases [LMB] and [RMB] Crit chance rapidly.
  • Nowhere to Run - Slows enemies hit in the back.


Charge Forth

Rush forward, interrupting enemies you hit.
  • Rush In Attack - Press [Q] again for a strike that interrupts.

  • Relentless - Charge distance dramatically increased.
  • Throwback Attack - Rush In Attack tosses enemies behind you if it hits.
  • Flaming Fist - Rush In Attack also creates a cone of flame that ignites enemies.

  • Pure Aggression - Remove debuffs from yourself and nearby allies when you activate Charge Forth.
  • Irresistible Charge - +50 armor during Charge Forth. Cannot be pushed, interrupted, or stunned.



Staggering Leap

Leap attack that interrupts.
  • Blunt Trauma - Enemies hit by leap are stunned.

  • Chopper - Leap travels farther and deals more damage.
  • Shake, Rattle, and Roll - Enemies struck by your Leap attack are also slowed for 5s.
  • Bonecrusher - Stun lasts longer, but you are Weakened for 3s.

  • Leap Before You Look - You can use Leap more often (Cooldown -8s).

  • Battle Cry - Leaping gives you +50 armor for 5s.



Ground and Pound

Create a shockwave that launches enemies upwards.
  • Pound of Armor- For each enemy hit, gain +20 armor for 5s.

  • Resurgence - On use, you regain stamina.

Warrior's Toughness
[LMB] On hit, you have +10 front armor for 3s.
+15% speed for 3s if you [LMB] attack near multiple foes.
Hero's Might
+10% damage.
-30% damage from damage-over-time effects.
Quick to Anger
[RMB] Lowers base cooldown to 4s(Holding [RMB] longer still increases its cooldown).
Fringe Benefits
+10 armor when you are hit from long or medium range.
Hero's Vitality
+15% maximum health.
Life Line
+10% healing to you. When out of combat, your health returns faster.
Super Charger
[Q] You can Charge more often(-4s cooldown).
After dodging, gain +10 armor for 5s.
33% maximum stamina.
Hard Charger
+33% max stamina. Reduced distance when pushed.
Impact Crater
[E] The leap affects enemies in a larger area.
Sustained Abilities
Your skills cost less stamina.
20% faster focus gain.
Iron Skin
+5 armor.
Demon's Focus
[LMB] Demon Fist builds focus 25% faster.
Focus on Survival
For 4s, +50 hp/s and debuff immunity after using Focus.
For 4s, +75 hp/s and hit reaction immunity after using Focus.

Tips and TricksEdit

  • Try using Frenzy to block projectiles that may hit your more vulnerable teammates.
  • The Margrave is a tanky initiator with a number of mobility options including a leap and a charging dash. Use this mobility to chase opponents horizontally and vertically and pick a fight on your terms.
  • Stick with your supports or any other squishy character. You will need to peel enemies off of them, but they can often kill an opponent or help you survive an uneven encounter.
  • Let your supports know that you don't need help moving vertically, get that Uncle Sven to save his Elastic Ooze for Lord Knossos. Little things like that may mean you have a little less aggro in a teamfight and won't be burst down.


  • It's possible that The Margrave's red hand is a hand he took from a demon.
  • Margrave was originally the medieval title for the military commander assigned to maintain the defense of one of the border provinces of the Holy Roman Empire or of a kingdom.
